What is a smart gas detector?

A smart gas detector is a safety device that monitors the concentration of combustible or toxic gases such as LPG, natural gas (CNG/PNG), or carbon monoxide in a home and alerts occupants via an alarm or smartphone notification if dangerous levels are detected.

Types of Gas Detectors

  • LPG Detectors: Detect liquefied petroleum gas leaks from cylinders and stoves.
  • Natural Gas (Methane) Detectors: For PNG (Piped Natural Gas) connections.
  • Carbon Monoxide Detectors: Detect odourless, deadly CO from appliances.
  • Combination Detectors: Detect multiple gas types simultaneously.

Smart Features

  • Wi-Fi-enabled with instant mobile push notifications.
  • Automatic valve shut-off when connected to a smart gas valve.
  • Voice alerts with a loud buzzer alarm for immediate evacuation warning.
  • Battery backup in case of power failure.
  • Data logging and gas concentration level display.

A smart gas detector is an essential safety device for every Indian home with a gas connection. Early detection can prevent fatal accidents, fires, and explosions caused by undetected gas leaks.
